March 11 - November 29, 2024
This exhibit explores how the social and societal landscape of the 1920s was reflected in women's fashion. As the suffrage movement progressed and public perception of strict gender roles changed, the liberated woman celebrated her independence with short hemlines and sequins. A large portion of our operating funds come from various fundraisers held throughout the year.
The Museum's first fundraiser of the year. Held annually the last Friday of February. The Heritage Luncheon offers a generous serving of Heritage Beef Stew, loaded with meat and vegetables, fresh roll, dessert and drink for $15 per person. Vegetarian stew is also available.
The Aylmer-Malahide Museum Volunteers' Annual Christmas Tour of Homes was developed to benefit the operation of the museum and to raise awareness of local businesses. Four unique, interesting, and/or historical homes are chosen in the Aylmer Area. These homes are decorated for Christmas and then opened for participants to tour.

The Museum's second fundraiser of the year. Held annually in June. The Spring Luncheon offers a nice variety of salads, served with dessert and beverages for only $15 per person.
Each summer, the museum holds a yard sale as part of the Talbot Trail of Yard Sales put on by Elgin County.
