Beat the Heat

July 10, 2026

The Aylmer-Malahide Museum & Archives proudly presents Beat the Heat: Historical Methods of Staying Cool, an exhibit exploring warm weather clothing throughout the twentieth century. With the changing climate of today’s world exposing us to adverse weather conditions (such as the current heat wave), this exhibit allows patrons to learn and reflect upon ways in which fashion reflects the environment in which it was produced and how strategies of combatting heat have evolved in recent history. Join us at 14 East Street in Aylmer anytime this summer from Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, or on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, to learn more about battling the heat throughout history and to take home a fun activity page.

Sincere thanks to our summer employees for compiling this display!
